Carter Newpower, Andy Larsen, Shota Kaneko and Cal Levis all scored twice as the Mason City Toros defeated the Minnesota Loons, 10-0, on Saturday night at the Mason City Arena.
Erik Chaffe stopped all 12 shots that he faced to record his second shutout of the season and the team’s fifth.
Mason City took all eight games against Minnesota this season by scoring at least eight goals in every game and allowing a combined 10 goals.
The Toros took a 2-0 lead into the locker room after one period for the second night in a row before erupting for five in the second period, all by five different players. Mason City added three more goals in the third to wrap up the season series.
The Toros take on the Alexandria Blizzard next weekend in their final two road games of the 2021-22 regular season.
