The Mason City Toros swept a weekend series against the Minnesota Loons with an 8-1 win on Saturday night at the Breezy Point Hockey Center.
Jack Campion and Cullen Hogan scored a pair of goals in the win a night after three different Toros scored a pair of goals apiece. For Hogan, his two goals marked his fourth consecutive game finding the back of the net.
Nathan Gilleshammer also scored for the third time in the last two games to pick up his fourth goal since joining the Toros late last month.
Erik Chaffe stopped 20-of-21 shots to earn his fifth win of the season, tied with Owen Carlson for the team lead.
The Toros took an early 2-0 lead after Campion and Cal Levis struck in the opening period.
Though the Toros did not match their four-goal second-period effort from the night before, they did score three more goals in the second period on Saturday to take a 5-0 lead into the second intermission. Dillon Schmidt, Gilleshammer and Hogan scored to add to the Toros lead.
Though the Toros lost the shutout bid in the third period but Campion, Hogan and Nik Howell capped the scoring.
