Toros Open Up Busy Stretch Against Willmar Friday

GAME NOTES

The Mason City Toros open up a five-games-in-six-days stretch on Friday night against the Willmar WarHawks at the Willmar Civic Center.

Mason City is at the beginning of a stretch of five games against five different opponents before their week-long holiday break.

The Toros have won eight consecutive road games and four consecutive games overall. They are outscoring opponents 62-14 during their road streak.

Mason City has defeated Willmar in four-of-five meetings thus far this season with one more remaining after Friday. They are outscoring the WarHawks 28-8 and have won both games played at the Willmar Civic Center Arena.

A key to the Toros’ success against the WarHawks this year has been three-goal periods. Mason City has scored three goals in a period against Willmar four times this season, including twice on Nov. 27, a 7-2 Mason City victory.

Despite being outshot in four-of-five meetings with Willmar, Mason City has only lost to them once. The only time that the Toros outshot the WarHawks was Nov. 27, when they held a 41-35 advantage.
