Toros Drop Weekend Opener Against Willmar

BOX SCORE

Cal Levis scored his 12th goal of the season but the Mason City Toros fell to the Willmar WarHawks, 4-1, on Friday night at the Mason City Arena.

Collin Kerchoff scored three times, including twice in the third period, to buoy the WarHawks and give then their third straight win. The victory also marked Willmar’s first in four games against Mason City this season.

Levis brought the Toros within one goal at the 7:51 mark of the 2nd period but Mason City would get no closer. He was denied on a breakaway later that would have tied the game.

The Toros face the WarHawks again tomorrow night, this time on the road. Puck drop from the Willmar Civic Center Arena is at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday night.
