Toros Complete Weekend Sweep vs Loons

Mason City, IA- The Toros stayed red hot with their third win in a row in three days.  The Toros claimed a shootout win on Thursday over Willmar and a dominant 17-0 win over the Loons, then capped their weekend with another show of offensive force over Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.
 
Parker McInroy opened the scoring as he parked himself in front of netminder Alex Harden.  McInroy turned and fired a backhand shot over Harden’s shoulder to put the Toros on the board 10:34 into the first.  Two minutes later, Nolan Christy flied up the near side wall before putting a shot over Harden’s stick to extend the lead to 2-0.  The Toros would continue the pattern of back-door tap-ins from last night as Aaron Sawicki would send a pass over to Jax Schauer who would tap the puck home to put the team up 3-0.  The Toros would add one more before the end of the first period when Miles Berg would keep the puck in along the blue line. He would then send a pass out front to Dominic Despenas waiting in the slot.  Despenas would go forehand backhand and send the puck to the back of the net to end the period up 4-0.
 
Jax Schauer opened the scoring in the second with another back-door tap-in to extend the lead 5-0. Five minutes later, Marcus Fritel gathered the puck behind the net before sending a pass out front to a waiting Matt Ivanov who sent it to the back of the net to put the team up 6-0.
 
David Loahr added two more goals in the third before Sam Menne landed get the final goal of the night as he sent a laser from the point to the back of the net as the Toros would secure the victory 9-0.  The final shot counter favored the Toros 63-7.
