Four different Mason City Toros scored multiple goals as they defeated the Minnesota Loons, 15-1, on Friday night at the Mason City Arena.
Luke Stevens and Nik Howell both recorded hat tricks while Carter Newpower and Andy Larsen both scored twice in Mason City’s highest-scoring game of the season. Stevens scored in the first and twice in the second in his second game with the Toros. He added three assists in his home debut. Howell struck once in all three periods.
The Toros scored eight times in the second period before getting six more in the third, their two highest totals in a period this season.
Luke Robertson, Cal Levis, Jordan Newpower, Derek Humphreys and Colin Hedland also scored for Mason City. The Toros also scored on each of their first three power plays.
Mason City looks to sweep the season series Saturday night as they face the Loons for the final time this season. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
