Mason City, IA- The Mason City Toros are thrilled to announce that alumnus forward Blake Ulve has committed to play NCAA DIII Hockey at St. Norbert College, in De Pere, Wisconsin.
Blake laced up for 10 regular season and 5 postseason games with the Mason City Toros, recording 7 goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 15 total games in a Toro jersey. He helped the Toros to a playoff series win over the Willmar WarHawks and got the Toros to within one win of reaching the Fraser Cup Championship Tournament.
Ulve spent the past two seasons with the North Iowa Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). Across two seasons in a Bulls jersey, the Albert Lea, MN, native played 100 games and recorded 17 goals and 28 assists for 45 points while logging time on the top power play and penalty kill units. Ulve served as the Bulls Captain for the 2023-24 season.
St. Norbert College competes in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA). The Green Knights have claimed five NCAA DIII National Championships, reached nine NCAA DIII National Championship Games, and reached 12 NCAA DIII Frozen Fours. Ulve joins former North Iowa Bulls players Logan Dombrowsky and Byron Hartley on the Green Knight’s roster.
