Mason City, IA – Mason City Toros forward TJ Gibson was selected as the Star of the Week for the NA3HL’s West Division for the week running from October 13th-19th.

In the Toros’ two game road series in Eveleth against the Minnesota Wilderness, Gibson led the way to a pair of victories and helped keep the Toros in 2nd place in the West Division. On Friday night, the Rochester, MN, native scored a career high four points to power the Toros to a 7-6 victory. He scored two goals and added two assists, with three points coming in the third period to spark the Toros’ four goal explosion in that stanza. The next night, Gibson added another goal and two more assists in the Toros most commanding victory of the 2025-26 season so far.

The weekend ran Gibson’s season scoring totals to 8 goals, 9 assists, and 17 points. The second year Toro is now the team’s leading scorer and leading goal scorer while sitting at second in assists and first in points per game (1.42). The 2005 born forward is the second Toro to earn a player of the week honor this season. Jason Williams was the first one in September.

“I am very happy for TJ to get this recognition,” said Toros Head Coach Alex North. “He has shown that not only is he able to put pucks in the net but also set up the guys around him to score as well.”

Gibson and the Toros will look to continue their success in their two-game series next weekend against the Alexandria Blizzard on the road. The Toros next play at home on Halloween night against the Willmar WarHawks.
