TJ Gibson Commits to Jamestown

Mason City, IA- Mason City Toros forward and Assistant Captain TJ Gibson has committed to play ACHA Division I Hockey at the University of Jamestown, in Jamestown, North Dakota. 

The Rochester, Minnesota, native joined the Toros after a successful high school career at Rochester Century High School and a season spent with the Oakmoor Academy Patriots, in Urbandale, Iowa. He played his first NA3HL games in the 2023-24 season with the Granite City Lumberjacks, scoring 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points in 6 games. The next season, he made his full-time NA3HL debut with the Toros. He laced up for 41 games and notched 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points. His goal total was third on the team at season’s end. 

This season, Gibson has elevated his play and performance. In 43 games, Gibson has notched 22 goals and 23 assists for 45 points. His point total is third on the team while his goal total leads the Toros. Gibson’s best weekend performance came in an October series against the Minnesota Wilderness, during which Gibson posted 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points across the two-game series.

The University of Jamestown is a private university in Jamestown, North Dakota, and is one of the most successful ACHA programs. The Jimmies are currently ranked #7 in the ACHA and preparing for the 2026 ACHA National Tournament.
