Sota Isogai scored twice but the Mason City Toros fell to the Rochester Grizzlies, 6-4, on Saturday night at the Rochester Rec Center.
Shota Kaneko scored the game’s first goal for the second night in a row but Mason City could not hold onto a one-goal lead heading into the third period. The two teams combined to score five goals in the second period with both of Isogai’s tallies in the frame and a Nik Howell in between them.
The Toros suffered their first loss of the season when leading entering the third period. The Grizzlies scored three goals in the third period, two of which came in the opening 1:19 of the period.
Mason City has Sunday off before traveling to Blaine, Minn. on Monday to face the Gillette Wild in the first of three games in the NA3HL Showcase. Puckdrop is at 7:45 p.m.
