Mason City Toros forward Nik Howell became the fifth Toro to appear in a North American Hockey League game this season when he suited up for the North Iowa Bulls in their game against the Aberdeen Wings on Saturday night at the Mason City Arena.
The Mason City native appeared in two games for two different teams on Saturday. Howell was told in the locker room following the Toros’ 3-1 win over the Willmar WarHawks that he would be joining the Bulls that evening.
Howell has been comfortable with whatever assignment he has been given this season. He has played three different positions with the Toros: left wing, center and defense.
Howell joins Sota Isogai, Jack Campion, Carter Newpower and Luke Robertson as Toros who have been called up to the NAHL. All five Toros to advance to the next level have suited up with the Bulls.
