Mason City, IA- The Mason City Toros are excited to announce that Lahoussine Salama is joining the Toros’ bench as an assistant coach.
The Butler, PA, native makes his coaching debut this season after an excellent junior hockey career spent mostly in the NA3HL. Salama played two seasons as the Captain of the New Ulm Steel from 2021-2023. Across those two seasons, he suited up for 93 games in which he recorded 13 goals and 30 assists for 43 points. He made his junior hockey debut for the USPHL Premier’s Ogden Mustangs in 2021 after a successful AAA career playing for the San Jose Jr. Sharks program.
Following his junior hockey career, Salama enrolled at Lawrence Tech University, in Highland Park, Michigan. He played two seasons for one of the ACHA’s top programs. This past season, Salama suited up for 24 games and scored 6 goals and 15 assists for 21 points. He helped the Blue Devils to an appearance in their second consecutive conference championship game.
Salama played for current Toros Head Coach Alex North in New Ulm and will serve as Coach North’s primary assistant for his first season at the helm of the Toros.

The Mason City Toros begin the 2025-26 season, the 14th NA3HL season in Mason City’s junior hockey history, with a two-game series against the Minnesota Wilderness on September 12th and 13th at the Mason City Arena.
