Sota Isogai and Cal Levis both scored three goals apiece to lead the Mason City Toros (6-3-0-0) to an 8-2 win over the Minnesota Loons (1-11-0-0).
The Toros went a perfect 4-for-4 on the power play with Levis striking on the man advantage for all three of his goals and Isogai scored his first goal of the game on the power play. Levis scored on the first two power plays about two-and-a-half minutes apart in the first period and Isogai beat the buzzer on the man advantage with a late goal.
Jack Campion led all players with six points thanks to a goal and five assists.
Dillon Schmidt opened the scoring in the first with a shorthanded goal at 5:44 after Rex Staudacher started the rush by forcing a turnover. The Loons tied it up less than three minutes later but Levis and Isogai sent the Toros back to the locker room in the lead with their work on the man advantage.
Isogai added his second of the night 3:07 into the second period and Campion struck eight minutes later to give him eight goals in the season’s first nine games. Minnesota added a goal with less than two minutes to go in the second but Isogai and Levis picked up their respective hat trick-clinching goals in the third period.
