Cullen Hogan scored three times to lead the Mason City Toros to a 6-2 win over the Alexandria Blizzard on Saturday night at the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria.
Hogan forced and then scored on a breakaway late in the first period and then struck twice just 47 seconds apart early in the second period to record his first hat trick of the season. Robertson scored the game’s first goal with a wrister from the blue line before Hogan struck with three straight. Kaspar wristed home Mason City’s fourth goal of the game late in the second and then Peterson and Ralston scored in the final minute of regulation.
The Toros wrap up their regular-season series against the Blizzard on Sunday with a 5 p.m. game.
