HEDLAND TO CONTINUE HOCKEY CAREER AT NORTHERN COLORADO

 

The Mason City Toros are excited to announce that defenseman, Colin Hedland, has committed to the University of Northern Colorado to play ACHA College hockey.

 

The Fairbanks, Alaska native joined the Toros in their inaugural season (2021/22) and played his entire NA3HL career with the Toros while also seeing action in eleven NAHL games over three seasons, registering two assists. Over his two seasons in Mason City, Hedland played in 79 games and collected 16 goals and 55 assists for 71 points.

 

Former Toros Assistant Coach, and current North Iowa Bulls Assistant Coach, Marquise Cotten, had the following to say on the offensive defenseman, “Colin came to Mason City and was an immediate difference maker. Coming from across the country and making the impact that he did was impressive. We are excited to watch him continue to grow as a player and person and Northern Colorado.”

 

The Toros play a preseason game against the Norwegian, Frisk Asker u20 on September 10. The Mason City Toros kick off their regular season in Breezy Point, Minnesota on September 15 & 16 against the Loons, and their home opener on September 22 vs. the Alexandria Blizzard.
