Mason City, IA- The Mason City Toros are thrilled to announce that two members of this year’s Toros have earned 2023-24 NA3HL League Honors.
Defenseman Miles Berg was selected as the 2023-24 NA3HL’s Defenseman of the Year. The Lynwood, Washington, native was also chosen to the NA3HL’s All League 1st Team and the All-West Division Team.
Toros Forward Jax Schauer joins Berg on the 2023-24 NA3HL All-West Division Team.
The two players each had 49 points, tying them for the team lead in scoring. Schauer, a native of Hastings, Minnesota, recorded 27 goals and 22 assists in 43 games, leading the Toros in goal scoring this season. In three playoff games this year, Schauer recorded a goal and an assist.
Berg finished the year with 14 goals and 35 assists in 50 games. He led the Toros in assists and finished second in total scoring among NA3HL defensemen this season. Berg is committed to play NCAA DIII Hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Both players represented the Mason City Toros at the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament in St. Peter’s, Missouri, this season. In two games in St. Peter’s, Schauer recorded a goal and an assist for two points while Berg recorded a goal.
