The North American 3 Hockey League revealed on Thursday its schedule for the 2021 NA3HL Showcase Dec. 20-22 at the Super Rink in Blaine, MN. The Mason City Toros will face the Gillette Wild, the Northeast Generals and the Oregon Tradesman.
Gillette has the most wins of any of the Toros’ three Showcase opponents. The Wild enter this weekend’s action with an undefeated recorded of 20-0-0-0. Despite that, Gillette sits two points back in the Frontier Division of the also undefeated Helena Bighorns, who is also their opponent this weekend. The Wild will face Mason City at 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 20.
After playing the night before, the Toros have a quick turnaround before they face Northeast they next morning at 11:45 a.m. The Generals are 16-0-0-0 and have allowed the fewest goals in the league (22). Northeast hosts the Bay State Bobcats Saturday in their only game this weekend in an East Division matchup.
Mason City’s final game of the Showcase is against Oregon at 12:15 p.m. on Dec. 22. The Tradesman are the Toros’ only Showcase opponent with at least one loss. Oregon is 14-4-0-2 and hails from the Central Division. They’ve won eight of their last nine games with the only loss coming in the shootout. Oregon’s 298 penalty minutes are the fifth-fewest in the NA3HL and they host the Wasau Cyclones this Saturday night.
